Good morning! It’s Cindy and Norma reporting in from Ohio today. As you can see, Norma’s been “assisting” me with a special project. My guild is gearing up for Veteran’s Day. We’ll be presenting approximately 20 Quilts of Honor to veterans in a special ceremony.
My job in the next few weeks is to tack down the hanging sleeves on some of the quilts. Below is the first one I started. Each quilt is unique, making our ceremony even more special for the veterans we will honor.
The quilting in the photo below really enhances the stars and stripes!
I just love this star block! How cute are these flags with the white tone on tone stars?
I’ll be finishing up the sleeves on this stack in the next few days.
Stay tuned for more updates on our special ceremony!
Hi Cindy! Oooh, I love all of the quilty goodness in this post. It makes my heart happy to know some many veterans will be honored and celebrated on Veteran’s Day. It’s a cause I want to get more involved with! Thanks for sharing all of the different and beautiful quilts with us for inspiration. ~smile~ Roseanne
I hope you have a good show or two, or some relaxing music to accompany you while you tackle that job. I am not a fan of sewing hanging sleeves, but it’s a necessary task. Nice that you are willing to do that work!
Beautiful quilts! And Norma is adorable. 😊
Thanks on both counts! Norma is my faithful companion and quilt critic.
How did I miss a Norma post??!?! I need to see all posts where she is featured – such a gorgeous sweet looking pup! I love the stack of patriotic themed quilts – how wonderful your guild is presenting those quilts! I bet there will be a lot of moist eyes at that ceremony!
Yes! It’s been awhile since Miss Norma has been seen but she is doing great! I think our Veteran’s Day Ceremony will be so moving. I can’t wait to meet all these fine veterans.
