Rustic Tree – FREE Pattern – Follow Up

I have fallen in love with Sandy’s “Rustic Tree” paper pieced pattern.  I had a busy weekend but managed to squeeze in a little sewing.

I texted this picture to Sandy and she said it looks like a Dr. Seuss Whoville Christmas  tree…all the more reason to love it!  I added a 1 inch black border to the block so the red and green would really pop.Whoville treeNext, I decided to make a tree using some metallic fabrics and some non-traditional Christmas colors.  Hey Sandy…know anyone who likes purple?Purple Tree Tonight I think I’ll make a tree from some Christmas fabrics I found on the bottom of my navy blue fabric stash…go figure!Possibilities

This paper pieced pattern is so easy.  I might turn my little trees into quilted coasters/mug rugs.  I’ll be making several more for the approaching Christmas season.

Oooh, I love these trees…especially the purple one! It’s been a while since I paper-pieced, but seeing these cuties is enough for me to dust off my PP skills. Gonna try it soon! Thank you!

Ladies! Love, love, LOVE this, too! Whoooo doesn’t love a Whoville tree? And anything Dr. Seuss in general, but I digress. I do NOT need another project to add to my extensive list, but geez whiz this would be fabulous as a mug rug. Thanks. No really, thanks. ~sigh~ I need to add this to my list. ~smile~ Roseanne
