Today we had blue skies and a bit of warmth to combat the winter chill and I was looking forward to another sewing lesson with my friend Kelly. As you may recall, I’ve been teaching her to create a quilt top. She has about 5 blocks completed and I was convinced that we could develop an assembly line and get all of the rest of the blocks put together tonight.
We chatted for a while and then we staged a few blocks on the design floor. I love the fabrics she picked out — warm and lovely blues and tans.

We were all ready to get after it, then my trusty Bernina, decided that it was time for her yearly check-up. Drat! So, we put the fabric away and we went to dinner. It wasn’t what I had planned, but it was still a good day!
I’m guessing that I’ll be out of commission for a week or so. It’s high time that I focused on improving on my pre-cut stash.
It’s easy to take things in stride when you can catch a whiff of spring in the air!
