Turkey Table Topper – A Free Pattern

It’s the last day of October and Thanksgiving is fast approaching!

Need a quick turkey table topper?  Give Sandy’s “Garrett Gobble” pattern a try!  He’s a cutie and is made from a extra scraps we all have on hand.  I like his embroidered little turkey feet.IMG_4467[1]The finished table topper measures 30 inches x 30 inches.  The pattern is made with (36) 5.5 inch squares but left over charm squares would also work great.  IMG_4482[1] You can download the pattern by clicking on this link:

Christmas Sofa Quilt – A Free Pattern

Good morning from Cindy in Ohio!  I just finished the pattern for Sandy’s latest masterpiece…a “Christmas Sofa Quilt”!

We fell in love with this Little Tree fabric line and knew it was the perfect match for Sandy’s pattern.  She combined four 10 inch (finished) patchwork blocks to make one large patchwork block.  Here’s a close up view:

Sandy designed this quilt with a 2 inch tone on tone border to showcase these lovely Christmas prints.  We like this pattern because the large floral blocks and the color scheme can easily be changed to use other themed fabrics for Valentine’s Day, Easter, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving,  Quilts of Valor, Birthdays…you get to choose!

A New Free Pattern!

As I mentioned last week, I’ve been working on a new quilt design with a “Dot Crazy” jelly roll.  These fabrics were designed by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr of Modern Quilt Studio.

Sandy and I collaborated over the miles on this design.  Thank goodness for cell phone technology…what would we do without it?  I would send her photos of different layouts and she would give me feedback.

Below is the result of our collective design strategy and we are calling this quilt “Corner Kick”.

We love these fabrics because they are bright, bold and modern.  The blue and white diamonds help anchor the blocks and bring all these fabrics together in a very easy, beginner friendly quilt.

We think these bright fabrics make the perfect quilt for sunny day picnics or a casual throw on a cool summer evening.
