Porch Party!

It’s Cindy reporting in from Ohio.

This morning, I had a porch party with a dear friend. She cleaned out her stash and said she had a bag full of fabric with my name on it. I couldn’t get to her house fast enough!

We chatted on the porch for just a bit (due to inclement weather) AND it felt like a party because we haven’t seen each other in person since I can’t remember when!

Check out all these fabrics! There’s a little of something or a lot of something from every spoke on the color wheel.

Speaking of wheels, the ones in my head are turning with a new crop of fabrics. I was in desperate need of some purples and there are lots of good ones to work with.

Dusting will have to wait and I think we’ll have take out pizza for dinner because I’ll be sorting and stacking fabric.

Thank you dear friend, let’s have another porch party soon!

Christmas Sewing

It’s Cindy reporting in from Ohio. Sandy’s been super busy sewing quilt tops for Christmas gifts. I’ve been doing some sewing and quilting, but on a smaller scale.

My daughter in law found this cute fabric and asked me to make a mixer cover and a table runner for their kitchen. The check fabric is the backing.

With the table runner project, I got to practice my machine binding skills. I turned the binding to the back of the runner and did a top stitch. I think I did pretty good, my sewing lines were “fairly” straight!

All ready to wrap and put under the tree!

Snowy Panel

Hi! Cindy here…reporting in from Ohio.

It’s snowing outside (brrr!) and it’s snowing inside too! I recently bought this David Textiles digitally printed snowman panel. I like the blue/grays and the red accent colors. Plus, this guy is so cheerful.

I added a 2 inch inner border, a larger outer border and a soft flannel backing in a snowflake print…totally easy straight seam sewing. Next, it’s off to Ms. SJ for quilting.

I hope I get it back in time for Christmas. If not, I know I will be snuggling with this quilt well into 2021.
