The Cows Are Coming Home!

Hello!  Cindy reporting in from Ohio while Sandy is traveling.

I received a lovely gift from a Dear Friend (DF).  It’s a framed print of a Ruth McDowell pieced art quilt entitled “Wallflowers” from 2007.   Ruth’s pieced art quilts are near and dear to me because many of them depict every day scenes from rural America, they use lots of tiny scraps AND they are so beautiful.DF also gave me some fabric called Grey barnsiding by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics.  While I was in awe of my gift, DF wrote this lovely note:   Our story began on a dairy farm with lots of “wallflowers” as Ruth might put it…Sandy, I’ll be coming home soon!  I’ll be sure to bring the cows with me so we can reminisce and plan our own pieced art quilt with the grey barnsiding fabric.
