Pinwheels Repurposed

This past weekend, I was cleaning up my sewing room after a recent flurry of creativity.  After finishing my Patriotic Pinwheels GBD 07 06 18 table runner, I had a few leftover pinwheel blocks.

Since pinwheels are one of my favorite blocks, I just couldn’t bear to throw them in a scrap pile never to be seen again until 2028!  So…I made a few July 4th greeting cards.

I had some blank note cards on hand and used a decorative stitch to sew the pinwheels to the cards.  I did snip all those loose threads, just in case you’re wondering!

Below is what the inside of the card front looks like.  Do you think my needle is dull from sewing on card stock?  Oh well, it was worth it!  I might use some fabric glue and small fabric scraps to add color and fun to the inside of the card, who knows where this will lead?

Garden Notes:

My peonies finished blooming about two weeks ago.  The vases in my house now hold blossoms from my Earth Angel Rose Bush, a Mother’s Day gift from my son last year.
