Vintage Treasure #1

Happy Monday!

It’s Cindy reporting in from Ohio after being up on the farm all weekend.  One of mom’s dear friends, Bea, has been doing a bit of spring cleaning and came across several unfinished, vintage quilt tops that got started, folded up and put away for many years.

Bea asked if Sandy and I could help her finish 3 projects with sentimental value.  Of course we jumped at the chance to help a good friend!

Here’s the first vintage treasure!  We’re going to turn it into a pillow since it measures approximately 18 inches square.

All the fabrics are 100% polyester and are cut from clothing worn by Bea’s grandmother.  As you can see from the picture below, the pattern was included as an added bonus!  This pillow top definitely pre-dates rotary cutting!

The solid blue and this sweet floral are so pretty together.

The challenge will be to find 100% polyester fabric for the back of the pillow.  After a successful fabric search and purchase, we expect to finish this project in no time!
