Sandy is traveling through a very cold New York State so it’s Cindy reporting in from Ohio again today!
I often think I should have kept a journal of all the quilts I made through the years, but it just didn’t happen! Look what I got for Christmas…now I have no excuses!
Since I am a certified left-handed quilter, a very Dear Friend (DF) gave me a left handed clock for my sewing room. I have to admit, it took me a few minutes to figure out what this is. It kind of looks like a compass, but then I realized there are two clocks…one going clockwise for right handers and one going counter clockwise for left handers. Very clever! Thanks, DF!
I’m working on another charm square quilt. Here are a few pics to show you my color palette.
The charm squares are from different fabric lines but when I put them together, I think they work!
I think this burgundy floral print is gorgeous!
Once I add the border, I’ll share the final quilt top with you. I went to my favorite quilt shop today but forgot to put the quilt top in my car….sigh! Now I’ll have to make another trip to the quilt shop….hmmmm maybe I really forgot on purpose!
Stay warm!
Oh my goodness, that clock! Haha! I’m thinking my blog is my journal, at least for now. I hope you keep up with journaling your quilts, though. I have quilts from as far back as my great grandmother and oh how I wish I knew the background and stories behind them!
Same here, Wendy! I wish I had the background and stories behind our family quilts!
I have that exact quilt journal 📔
Are you using it? I haven’t started yet!
I started it a year ago. The year before, I had a large quilt calendar journal that had a section for recording quilts. I like the smaller version better because it’s nit limited to one year.
Yes. I like this one better than the big calendar/quiltjournal I used one year. I started using the smaller one last year.
Hi Cindy! What a hardship, having to return to the quilt shop. I would offer to do it for you, but you know I’ve been exiled from fabric purchasing for now. Not that I listen to dictums. Love all this fabric goodness – how that rich burgundy pulls out the flowers in the shot above it, and that first really dark fabric with the cooper-ish leaves. Ooh-la-la. This will be gorgeous. Happy Friday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
Haha, I did make the difficult trek back to the quilt shop and spent less than $30! All the ladies in the quilt shop loved this top. We decided on a small inner border and then a larger, floral outer border. Can’t wait to show you! Stay tuned!
Can’t wait to see your quilt — love love the fabrics!
