In my June 1 post, I asked for your opinions about a quilt binding color. I really appreciate all your comments because they helped me stay focused and motivated to finish this quilt.
Following Bev’s advice, I took the quilt with me to the fabric store AND reached a decision!
Black was the ideal color to frame the quilt and to highlight the fabrics, especially the floral prints. I used my machine to tack down the binding and am very happy with the results.
Speaking of florals, I just have to share one of my favorite coleus plants with you this morning. I am in love with this lime green and dark purple combination and of course the ruffled leaves!
Happy Monday!
Love the black border (said the Queen of Black)!
The black binding is perfect!
Thank you, Wendy! It frames it quite nicely!
Most certainly (said the Princess of Black)!
Quilt looks great with the black border. Is your plant a winter Hardy plant? Or would I need to bring it in for the winter?
It is an annual, so if you are in a freeze zone like we are in Ohio, you would have to bring it in. I might try to re-pot it this fall and see if I can keep it safe all winter.
Ha! Okay so I like to scan the photos before I read a post. I like to get the visual treats first. Well I saw the plant but thought it was some new very complex quilt you were working on!!! Maybe I should stop scrolling ahead!
I like the binding it nicely frames it!
Now get back to working on that coleus plant quilt 😉
Hee hee! The hazards of speed reading 🙂 I do it all the time!
Oh boy! New quilt idea…a study of Coleus! Thank you, Tierney!
Love the quilt binding and the plant. Both beautiful colors.
Thanks, Peggy! Lots of color inspiration in the garden this year!
Great choice! The quilt looks just right.
Thank you!
