What is the Leibster Award?
The Liebster Award 2017 is an award that exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.
The official rules for the award can be found at the Global Aussie Website. As nominees for this award, Sandy and I are to answer a few questions about ourselves. Here they are:
1.) Who inspired you to quilt/sew?
Mom – she always let us sew on her machine, helped us solve sewing problems, encouraged us to be frugal but adventurous (Cindy)
My childhood friend (aka The Quilt Pusher (TQP)). She invited me to make a quilt with her about 5 years ago and I’ve needed rehab ever since. (Sandy)
2.) If you could meet one person you have never met, who would it be?

3.) What was the last movie you saw in the theater?
A Dog’s Purpose, yes I cried! (Cindy)
Wonder Woman. (I cried for my little girl self who dreamed of being a strong woman) (Sandy)
4.) What kind of music do you like?
Jazz & Bluegrass (Cindy)
Motown and pop (Sandy)
5.) What is your favorite quilt/sewn project/craft?
I love pineapple quilts but have only made one! (Cindy)
My favorite is always the one I’m planning. I usually hate the one I’m working on. (Sandy)
6.) What is your favorite candy bar?
Almond Joy (chocolate, coconut, almond….what’s not to LOVE?) (Cindy)
Cadbury Fruit and Nut version (Sandy)
7.) Hand quilt or machine quilt?
Machine baby! (Cindy)
Jury’s still out, since I haven’t tried hand quilting yet. TQP has been proposing a hand-quilt project, but we haven’t organized it yet. (Sandy)
8.) What is your favorite color?
Teal (Cindy)
Purple (Sandy)
9.) What is your favorite quilting/crafting item?
I love my Bernina 145S machine, it’s my BFF! (Cindy)
I love my pin bowl and all of my pin cushions. (Sandy)
10.) Do you work on one project or many?
Many…but it creates anxiety for me if I have too many in the hopper! (Cindy)
Many – I have QADD (Quilting attention deficit disorder. (Sandy).
